SPORTS ROUNDUP: Flintridge Prep boys’ volleyball team finished unbeaten in Prep League

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Flintridge Prep 3, Pasadena Poly 0: Mike Lii finished with 26 assists Friday to lead the Rebels to a 36-34, 25-8, 25-15 Prep League road victory.

Flintridge Prep, which clinched the league title Wednesday, improved to 17-6 and finished up league at 8-0.

“It’s not an easy task going undefeated in our league,” said Flintridge Prep Coach Sean Beattie, who got seven kills apiece from Chadd Cosse and Dante Fergoso and six from Kareem Ismail. “They came together the whole time.

“The first game at 36-34 was just going back and forth the whole time. Each team had two or three opportunities to win. I can’t even remember the last point [from the first game], but I’m glad it’s over.”

Glendale 3, Burbank 0: The visiting Nitros picked up a 26-24, 25-19, 25-22 Pacific League victory Thursday.

SOFTBALL

Pasadena Poly 6, Flintridge Prep 1: Ashley Kim drove in the lone run for the visiting Rebels on Friday in a Prep League contest. Flintridge Prep dropped to 1-15, 0-9 in league.

COLLEGE BASEBALL

Glendale Community College 7, Citrus College 3: Oscar Tinjac had two hits and drove in three runs Friday to power the visiting Vaqueros to a Western State Conference South Division win. Glendale (25-11, 19-5 in the division) received two hits apiece from Mike McCallister, Pepe Marquez, Dylan Trimarchi and Jay Sheeley.

The Vaqueros suffered a 10-6 home loss against Citrus on Thursday. Julian Jarrard finished with three hits for Glendale, which won the division championship for the third straight season.
