SPORTS ROUNDUP: Glendale High baseball, softball grab Pacific League wins
BASEBALL
Glendale 9, Muir 5: Josue Aguilera walked three times and singled in scoring twice and leading the Nitros to a Pacific League victory Wednesday afternoon.
Jacob Funaro also singled and drove in three runs for Glendale (3-16, 2-9), while Javier Aguayo tossed all seven innings to pick up the win.
The Nitros return to league action Friday against Burroughs.
Campbell Hall 3, Flintridge Prep 1: Karlsen Termini went one for three with a run batted in for the Rebels, who had just two hits, in a nonleague road loss Wednesday. Flintridge Prep slipped to 13-8 on the year.
The Rebels host Pasadena Poly on Friday in a crucial Prep League game.
Arcadia 15, Hoover 0 (six innings): The Tornadoes dropped to 4-16 and 2-9 in the Pacific League with Wednesday’s league loss. Fidel Hernandez had a double and a walk for Hoover.
Hoover plays Muir on Friday in another league tilt.
SOFTBALL
Glendale 8, Muir 2: The Nitros improved to 6-11, 4-7 in the Pacific League with a home win Wednesday. Glendale faces second-place Burroughs on Friday.
Arcadia 10, Hoover 4: Alissa Barcena and Diana Palafox each had two hits in the Tornadoes’ Pacific League loss on the road Wednesday. Barcena was two for three with a run batted in for Hoover (7-11, 2-9 in league), which also received a hit and RBI from Kaitlyn Williams.
The Tornadoes face Muir in more league action on Friday.
