Roundup: Holy Family volleyball earns victory

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Holy Family 3, St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy 1: The visiting Gaels registered a 20-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-21 nonleague win Thursday.

On Wednesday, Holy Family (5-6) got 29 assists from Rianne Sanchez in a 22-25, 25-16, 20-25, 25-21,15-6 nonleague road win against Marshall Fundamental. Iris Guzman had nine blocks and eight kills for Holy Family, which got 19 digs and 10 kills from Katherine Rivera and 21 digs from Harmony Corona.

Crescenta Valley 3, Pasadena 2: Sabrina Shahbandeh had 14 kills and four blocks Thursday for the visiting Falcons in a 25-15, 23-25, 24-26, 25-21, 15-12 Pacific League win. Emmie Walker finished with 15 kills and three aces for the Falcons, who got seven kills, 22 assists and five blocks from Cassidy Ianello and 15 digs from Rosa Kwak.

Glendale Adventist Academy 3, Pilibos 1: Melisa Lopez contributed 13 kills and 17 digs Thursday to propel the host Cougars to a 25-17, 25-23, 22-25, 25-20 nonleague victory. Brittany Gregg added 24 assists for Glendale Adventist (3-4).

Immaculate Heart 3, Flintridge Prep 0: The visiting Rebels (1-3) suffered a 25-17, 25-17, 25-19 nonleague defeat Thursday. Dani Motte finished with eight kills and five aces for Flintridge Prep, which got 10 assists and four aces from Eiki Rokni.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Crescenta Valley 14, Burroughs 4: The Falcons picked up a Pacific League victory Thursday to improve to 4-2, 2-1 in league.

On Wednesday, the visiting Falcons earned a 13-5 nonleague victory against Canyon Country Canyon.

Saugus 12, Glendale 6: The host Nitros (2-2) received a pair of wins in doubles from Mary Pailevanian and Rouzana Hakobyan on Thursday in a nonleague match.

Chaminade 14, Flintridge Prep 4: Roya Gheissari won two singles sets (6-0, 7-5) on Thursday for the host Rebels (0-4) in a nonleague match at Scholl Canyon Tennis Center.

Arcadia 17, Hoover 1: Hoover received a singles win from Sara Kim (6-3) on Thursday in a Pacific League road match. Hoover dropped to 2-3, 1-2 in league.
