WOMEN’S CROSS-COUNTRY

Glendale Community College in Western State Conference Preview: The Vaqueros finished first in the event with 58 points Friday at Arroyo Verde Park in Ventura.

Glendale’s Elizabeth Nelson clocked 20 minutes 54 seconds to place second in the 5K race. Kelly Castillo of Glendale was ninth (22:14), followed by Caitlyn Selve (13th, 22:35), Teresa Villafuerte (16th, 22:43), Glindyll Mancia (18th, 22:58), Alejandra Quintero (27th, 23:25) and Jasmine Sales (41st, 24:19)

MEN’S CROSS-COUNTRY

Glendale Community College in Western State Conference Preview: Glendale captured the race with 24 points at Arroyo Verde Park in Ventura.

The Vaqueros were led in the four-mile race by Enrique Ramirez, who took second in 22 minutes 21 seconds. Glendale received a fourth-place finish from Steban Aviles (22:49). Also finishing for the Vaqueros were Daniel Marin (fifth, 22:53), Jorge Mendoza (sixth, 22:53), Jorge Serrano (seventh, 23:02), Erik Sandoval (30th, 24:02) and Edwardo Vasquez (36th, 24:20).

WOMEN’S SOCCER

Glendale Community College 3, West L.A. College 0: Visiting Glendale got one goal apiece from Daisy Mendez, Thalia Eufracio and Elizabeth Mendoza on Friday to pick up a Western State Conference South Division victory. Glendale improved to 4-1-4, 1-0-1 in the division.

MEN’S SOCCER

Moorpark College 3, Glendale Community College 2: The host Vaqueros dropped a Western State Conference match Friday. david Martirosyan and Marvin Moran scored one goal apiece for Glendale (2-8-1, 1-5 in the division).

CROSS-COUNTRY

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in Dos Pueblos Invitational: Maddie Peterson clocked 24:33 for the Tologs on Friday at Shoreline Park in Santa Barbara.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Webb 3, Flintridge Prep 0: Dani Motte finished with 11 kills and three aces Friday for the rebels, who suffered a 25-20, 25-15, 25-19 Prep League loss. Nicole Emmons contributed five kills for Flintridge Prep (1-8, 0-4 in league).
