Sports Roundup: Crescenta Valley High boys’ water polo cruises past Burroughs

BOYS’ WATER POLO

Crescenta Valley 16, Burroughs 5: Ryan Moguel and Nate Fernandez finished with four goals apiece Thursday to spark the visiting Falcons to a Pacific League victory. Omar Trad tallied a pair of goals for Crescenta Valley (13-8, 4-1 in league).

Hoover 19, Arcadia 10: Hakop Baghumian finished with four goals and Arik Avedi added two on Thursday to spark the host Tornadoes to a Pacific League victory. Narek Sarokhani had two goals for Hoover (4-12, 2-3 in league).

Ventura 11, Glendale 10: Arman Momdzhyan finished with four goals and Manuk Piloyan added three on Wednesday for the visiting Nitros in a nonleague match. Glendale, ranked No. 1 in the latest CIF Southern Section Division V poll, fell to 14-7. Ventura is No. 8 in Division II.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 3, Chaminade 0: Katie Conley collected 12 kills and Sophia Coffey added 23 assists Thursday to help the visiting Tologs pick up a 25-10, 25-11, 25-8 Mission League win. Emily Develle picked up 17 digs for Flintridge Sacred Heart (13-3, 4-1 in league).

San Gabriel Mission 3, Holy Family 0: The visiting Gaels suffered a 25-21, 25-21, 25-12 Horizon League defeat Thursday to drop to 6-11, 1-4 in league.

GIRLS’ GOLF

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 245, Harvard-Westlake 264: Denver Mackey finished with an eight-over-par 45 on Thursday for the Tologs in a Mission League match at Encino Golf Course. Flintridge Sacred Heart improved to 3-3 in league.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Hoover 11, Pasadena 7: Host Hoover got a sweep in singles from Sara Kim (6-1, 6-0, 6-0) to earn a Pacific League victory. Hoover improved to 5-9, 3-7 in league.

Flintridge Prep 9, Mayfield 9 (Flintridge Prep wins, 74-72): The visiting Rebels got two singles wins apiece from Roya Ghessari (6-1, 6-1) and Irene Kim (6-3, 6-1). The Rebels (2-10, 2-6 in league) got two wins in doubles from Cady Deck and Lori Pridjian (6-2, 6-4).

Louisville 13, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 5: Holly MacVaugh of Flintridge Sacred Heart swept her three singles sets (6-2, 6-1 6-4) in a Mission League road match Thursday. The Tologs dipped to 5-9, 2-5 in league.

Arcadia 16, Glendale 2: The visiting Nitros received singles wins from Rouzana Hakobyan (6-2) and Kellie Gong (6-1) on Thursday in a Pacific League road match. Glendale dipped to 6-7, 5-5 in league.
