Sports Roundup: Flintridge Sacred Heart volleyball turns back Notre Dame

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 3, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 0: Kayla Lund and Katie Conley finished with 13 and 12 kills, respectively, to lead the visiting Tologs to a 25-15, 25-16, 25-22 Mission League win Thursday. Flintridge Sacred Heart (17-3, 8-1 in league) got 30 assists from Sophia Coffey, 15 digs from Emily Develle and four aces from Ally Clapp.

Rio Hondo Prep 3, Flintridge Prep 0: Dani Motte collected 13 kills Thursday for the visiting Rebels, who suffered a 25-8, 25-11, 25-19 Prep League defeat. Flintridge Prep dropped to 1-14, 0-11 in league.

Hoover in Pacific League Tournament: The Tornadoes concluded a 2-0 run through the Pacific League Tournament by winning Thursday afternoon’s fifth-place match against seventh-seeded Arcadia, 15-4, at Burbank High.

Harout Ashkharian led Hoover (8-13, 4-4) with five goals, three assists and three steals, while Hakop Baghumian totaled two goals, three steals and three assists, Hakop Kaplanyan contributed three goals and two assists and Arbi Abnousian added two goals, one steal and one assist.

Hoover led, 4-1, after the first quarter and eventually rolled out to an 11-2 advantage by the end of the third quarter.

Tornadoes goalie David Petrosyan finished with 14 saves.

The fifth-seeded Tornadoes opened with a 12-6 win versus No. 6 Burroughs on Tuesday.
