Sports Roundup: Patten keys Crescenta Valley boys’ basketball to first win

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Crescenta Valley 48, Granada Hills Kennedy 33: Eric Patten finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds and Kevin Dinges collected nine points and 12 rebounds for the Falcons (1-1) in a pool-play contest of the San Fernando Valley Tournament on Wednesday.

Glendale 62, Golden Valley 50: Tyler Lousararian finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds and Alex Morales added 10 points and 11 points Wednesday to spark the Nitros (2-1) in a pool-play game of the Burbank Tournament.

The Nitros got 14 points from Eric Kirakosian and 10 from Raffi Jivalagian.

Glendale will take part in the tournament’s third-place game at 6:30 p.m. Friday against a team to be determined.

St. Francis 45, Renaissance Academy 38: The Golden Knights began their season Tuesday with a pool-play victory in the Rose City Classic at Maranatha High. St. Francis received 19 points from Kyle Leufroy and 10 points and eight rebounds from Evan Crawford.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Glendale 50, Duarte 38: The Nitros (1-1) picked up a pool-play victory in the Duarte Tournament Tuesday.
