Jessamyn Duke to face Bethe Correia

Jessamyn Duke has received her second Ultimate Fighting Championship assignment, according to multiple mixed-martial-arts websites and first reported by Brazilian site Combate on Thursday.

Duke is reported to be fighting Bethe Correia at UFC 172 on April 26 in Baltimore.

The event, which will air on pay-per-view, is set to be headlined by a UFC light heavyweight title match between champion Jon Jones and challenger Glover Texeira.

A Kentucky native, Duke (3-0, one no-contest) now trains at the Glendale Fighting Club under Edmond Tarverdyan and alongside UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, fellow bantamweight Shayna Baszler and undefeated featherweight Marina Shafir.

Like Duke, Correia sports an undefeated record at 7-0 and will be making her second appearance in the UFC’s octagon.

Correia debuted in the UFC on Dec. 7, 2013 in Australia with a split decision win over Julie Kedzie. It was her sixth win via decision and it was her first bout to take place out of her native Brazil.

Duke, following her participation as a member of the 18th season of “The Ultimate Fighter” in which she was coached by Rousey, made her UFC debut on Nov. 30, 2013 in Las Vegas.

She won a unanimous decision against Peggy Morgan.

The 5-foot-11 27-year-old brings an established muay Thai game to the table, as well as a solid submission game with 11 MMA fights on her resume, seven on the amateur circuit in which she went 5-2.
