BOYS’ TENNIS

Crescenta Valley 11, Burbank 6: The host Falcons won all nine singles sets in a Pacific League match Tuesday that was ended before all 18 sets were completed. The Falcons (3-0 overall and in league) got sweeps in doubles from Jason Chang and Aren Abrahamian (6-1, 6-3, 6-0), Robert Lee and Young Peak (6-2, 6-1, 6-0) and Jae Yoon and Alex Jang (6-2, 6-0, 6-0).

Hoover 18, Pasadena 0: Emile Ohanyan swept his three singles sets to power visiting Hoover to a Pacific League win Tuesday. The Tornadoes (2-3, 1-1 in league) got a sweep in doubles from Danny Kim and Artur Arutunyan (6-0, 6-0, 6-1).

Arcadia 11, Glendale 7: The Nitros suffered a Pacific League home defeat Tuesday. Glendale (3-1, 1-1 in league) got a sweep in singles from Arin Meserkhani (6-2, 6-1, 7-6 (7-5)) and a sweep in doubles from Michael Akopians and Davit Ismailian (6-2, 6-2, 6-4).

BASEBALL

Hoover 8, Eastside 0: Host Hoover began its season Tuesday with a victory in the Southern California Tournament. Tornadoes starting pitcher Jonathan Ramos allowed one hit in four innings to pick up the victory. JP Gallegos collected a pair of hits and drove in a run for Hoover.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Temple City 3, St. Francis 0: Host St. Francis began its season Tuesday with a 25-22, 25-17, 26-24 nonleague defeat. The Golden Knights got 29 assists from David Thompson and seven kills and four aces from AJ Krappman.

BOYS’ GOLF

St. Francis in Spanish Hills Country Club Invitational: The Golden Knights received a two-over-par 73 from Michael Mozilo on Monday to help St. Francis take second in the 16-team event with a team score of 225. Michael Finney and Stan Lintvedt had 75s for St. Francis, which received a 77 from Johnny Brandt.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

Glendale Community College 8, Santa Barbara City College 1: Visiting Glendale picked up a Western State Conference win Tuesday. Glendale (8-1, 4-1 in conference) got singles victories from Meghedi Mooradian (6-0, 6-0), Alexandra Amor (6-2, 6-2), Amy Shigenaga (6-0, 6-2), Ashley Sumudio (6-3, 6-0) and Ayaka Takeuchi (6-0, 6-0).

In doubles, Glendale got wins from Amor and Viktoriya Shumakova (9-7), Mooradian and Sumudio (8-2) and Takeuchi and Wendy Vasuthasawat (8-2).

MEN’S TENNIS

Cerritos College 6, Glendale Community College 3: The host Vaqueros fell Tuesday in a nonconference match. Glendale dipped to 7-2.

COLLEGE BASEBALL

College of the Canyons 3, Glendale Community College 2: Glendale dropped its Western State Conference South Division opener Tuesday on the road. David Garcia and Jay Sheeley each had two hits and drove in a run for the Vaqueros (5-7).
