Up and down the lineup, there proved to be plenty of pop displayed by the Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy softball team.

It led to the Tologs going 16-8-1, 4-4 in the Sunshine League for third place. Backed by their sturdy lineup, the Tologs reached the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division V playoffs.

Consequently, five Flintridge Sacred Heart players received all-league honors, including three on the first team.

“I’m happy with our representation,” Flintridge Sacred Heart Coach Kirk Nishiyama said. “I’m happy with the way we played. I thought we did a good job and we learned a lot throughout the year.”

Amanda Ramirez, Olivia Fitzpatrick and Kelly Fradet earned spots on the first team.

Ramirez often provided a spark for the Tologs, who fell to Garden Grove in the postseason for the second season in a row. The freshman shortstop proved she could handle the varsity level.

Ramirez batted .523 (45 for 86) with 10 doubles, four home runs and 32 runs batted in. She scored 32 runs and stole six bases.

“She led our team in a lot of offensive categories,” Nishiyama said. “She also played an amazing shortstop.

“We are very fortunate to have her and she did everything we expected of her.”

Fitzpatrick, a senior outfielder, batted .418 (33 for 79) with 12 doubles, two triples, two home runs and 22 runs batted in. She also scored 21 runs.

“She was our team MVP,” Nishiyama said. “We moved her from lead-off to third and she immediately responded by being our best clutch hitter. She provided leadership and exceeded our expectations.”

Fradet, a senior second baseman, hit .222 (14 for 63) with three doubles and 12 runs batted in. Fradet scored 21 runs and stole four bases.

“Kelly was our spark plug and she made the plays at second,” Nishiyama said. “She did it by being smooth and quick.”

Alli Lombardo and Bridget Garrity were selected to the second team.

Lombardo, a sophomore infielder/pitcher, batted .360 (27 for 75) with five doubles, two home runs, 26 runs batted in and 14 runs. In the circle, Lombardo finished 7-3 with a 3.94 earned-run average.

Garrity, a junior infielder, hit .369 (24 for 65) with 18 runs batted in, 15 runs and three stolen bases.
