Festival of Arts hosts red carpet fundraiser

Share

Red carpet arrivals, a private showing of fine arts and a concert featuring jazz greats Herb Alpert and Lani Hall drew art supporters to the Celebrity Benefit Concert and Pageant at the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts.

Actor Bryan Cranston helped kick off the festivities Saturday, and celebrity guests scheduled to appear included Lea Thompson, Joe Mantegna, Donna Mills, John O’Hurley and Kate Flannery.

After the private concert, guests strolled over to the Irvine Bowl to watch a Pageant of the Masters performance hosted by Cranston, an Emmy, Golden Globe, SAG and Tony Award-winning actor known for his lead role as Walter White in “Breaking Bad.”

The night closed with a pageant production of “The Grand Tour.” The presentation, with people posing in scenes created to look exactly like the original pieces, was inspired by the 17th and 18th century European tradition of continental travel to experience the world’s great art firsthand.

Proceeds from the event support renovations of the Festival of Arts and Pageant of the Masters facility.
