Luxury fashion retailers Alexander McQueen and Givenchy to open at South Coast Plaza

Luxury fashion houses Alexander McQueen and Givenchy will open boutiques in late spring at South Coast Plaza, joining the largest concentration of high-fashion retailers in the world.

The Alexander McQueen boutique will be the brand’s only Orange County location. The Givenchy boutique is exclusive to Southern California.

London-based Alexander McQueen was founded in 1992 by the late Lee Alexander McQueen. The label has dressed Catherine, the duchess of Cambridge, as well as Lady Gaga, Penelope Cruz and Nicole Kidman.

Paris-based Givenchy was founded in 1952 by Hubert de Givenchy and attracted a celebrity following, most famously Audrey Hepburn, who wore its designs in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “How to Steal a Million.”

Alexander McQueen will be located on level two in the Nordstrom wing. Givenchy will be located on level two near Jewel Court.

Official opening dates will be announced closer to the store openings.

South Coast Plaza also recently welcomed Aritzia’s first Orange County store on level two in the Bloomingdale’s wing. The Canadian women’s fashion line was founded in Vancouver in 1984.

The retail center additionally presented Prada Spirit, a pop-up store offering leather accessories till Feb. 19.
