Woman arrested after crash in canyon

No one was hurt when a driver tried to make an illegal U-turn and hit another car on Laguna Canyon Road on Tuesday night, Laguna Beach police said.

Irvine resident Milly Reque, 45, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, Sgt. Louise Callus wrote in an email.

Police arrived just after 9 p.m. to the 2900 block and found Reque inside a Subaru, Callus said.

Reque had tried to make a U-turn near the Big Bend area of Laguna Canyon Road and struck a Ford pickup, said Callus.

Northbound traffic was backed up to Canyon Acres Drive.
