Newport hires deputy public works director

A man who helped to ensure that Anaheim’s roadways, bridges, sewers and storm drains were maintained and improved will be applying his infrastructure expertise in Newport Beach.

Mark Vukojevic, who recently served as the city engineer for Anaheim, has been hired by Newport Beach to serve as the new deputy director of public works and city engineer.

Vukojevic holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Cal Poly Pomona. He is a licensed professional civil engineer and a licensed general engineering contractor, according to the city manager’s newsletter.

He also worked for Seal Beach and Claremont in engineering roles before joining Anaheim’s staff.

Vukojevic lives in Huntington Beach with his wife and five children.
