Surf art rules at AR4T gallery

AR4T Gallery continues its Girls vs. Boys: The Summer of Love series with surf-inspired art from Drew Brophy and Karlee Mackie.

Brophy is "the world's most-recognized surf lifestyle artist of the 21st century," according to the release. He also stars in the television show "The Paint Shop."

Mackie is a sponsored surfer who competes on tour as she develops her artistic abilities.

An opening reception for the artists will be from 7 to 10 p.m. July 29 at the gallery, 210 N. Coast Hwy. An after party will be held at Ocean Avenue Restaurant and Brewery, 237 Ocean Ave.
