Despite a name suggesting otherwise, Rocket is a rather timid dog who takes time to feel comfortable around unfamiliar people. Once he learns that you intend no harm, he warms up, wags his tail and enjoys being petted. Perhaps Rocket was mistreated or frightened at some point, which may be why he flinches if approached too quickly.

On walks, he is curious about new scents and sounds as well as other dogs. At 24 pounds, Rocket is a medium-size mixed breed, with a handsome golden coat. He is thought to be about 3 years old, although he resembles a cuddly puppy.
