Sunset Jazz at Newport series will bring back the standards again this summer

The Sunset Jazz at Newport summer series returns to Newport Beach this July, offering live music and food pairings through the fall.

The eighth annual festival takes place on Wednesdays over 11 weeks, from July 12 through Sept. 20, at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Spa across from Fashion Island. It is organized by Joe Rothman and John McClure.

Doors open for each performance at 5 p.m., with music lasting from about 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Starting the series is Ken Peplowski’s quartet with singer Sue Raney. The group will perform numbers from the Great American Songbook.

Ticket packages for all 11 Wednesdays start at $278. Individual performances start at $26. No outside food is allowed.
