Revolutionary War history breathes — and battles — in Huntington Beach

Share

History came to life Saturday when the American Revolution took hold of Huntington Beach’s Central Park, with reenactors engaging in the 1775 Battle of Lexington and drafting the Declaration of Independence.

The activities, presented by the Huntington Beach Historical Society, included sword instruction, artillery demonstrations, two battles and 18th-century dancing.

The 27th annual event continues Sunday at 7111 Talbert Ave. and is free and open to the public. Scheduled activities include a 9 a.m. church service and battles at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
