A 22-year-old Huntington Beach man died Thursday morning after his car veered off the road and hit a tree in Westminster, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The man has been identified as Vince Nguyen, said Erica Arellano, supervising deputy coroner with the Orange County coroner’s office.

Nguyen was driving northbound on Beach Boulevard just north of McFadden Avenue on Thursday at 6:57 a.m. when his 2004 Honda veered right, CHP Officer Duane Graham said.

“It first collided with the east curb, and from there, the vehicle continued on over the curb and collided with a tree on the driver’s side,” Graham said.

It is under investigation why Nguyen’s vehicle veered off the road, Graham said.
