A 69-year-old Huntington Beach woman died Monday after she was hit by a car while crossing the street on foot Saturday night in Huntington Beach, according to officials with the Huntington Beach Police Department.

Orange County coroner’s officials identified the woman as Christine Gonzales.

The police department responded to the collision on Talbert Avenue, east of Bell Circle, at 6:55 p.m. Saturday. Gonzales was struck by a gray 2015 Nissan Murano that was driven by a 57-year-old man, also from Huntington Beach.

Lt. Brian Smith said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor, Smith added.
