Huntington Beach council to hold special goal-setting meeting Thursday

The Huntington Beach City Council will hold a special meeting Thursday to take stock of city strengths and weaknesses before setting new three-year goals and initial objectives for addressing them.

The meeting is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Talbert Room at the Central Library, 7111 Talbert Ave.

A continental breakfast will be available at 7:45 a.m., and lunch items will be available for purchase at noon at the library food cart.

City officials will explore economic, political, technological, environmental and social factors that could affect the city. Chief Financial Officer Gilbert Garcia will provide an update on the city budget.
