Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce CEO departs; reason isn’t revealed

Share

Kyle Woosley, who headed the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce for nearly a year and a half, is out as its president and chief executive.

Chamber leaders, citing confidential personnel matters, declined to comment on the reason for Woosley’s departure, which occurred last month.

Woosley replaced Ed Fawcett, who led the group for 23 years, on Jan. 1, 2015. Woosley had previously served as a chamber ambassador.

In a statement to the Daily Pilot, chamber board Chairwoman Jennifer Farrell said the chamber’s policy is “not to comment publicly on personnel matters, but what I can say is that the chamber is looking forward to becoming the most effective business advocacy organization in Orange County.”

Woosley also declined to comment, referring questions to Farrell.

In a Daily Pilot story in July, Woosley and other officials said the chamber was seeing increasing membership and social media presence and was forming new committees.

Woosley was a regular at ribbon cuttings and other events, including City Council meetings, where he sometimes spoke in favor of new developments.
