Collection event to accept electronics

Electronic Waste Recycling of Southern California will host a free e-waste collection event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Church, 1021 Baker St.

Proceeds from the event will help schools and churches in Costa Mesa create green jobs and fund future e-waste collection events cross the country, organizers say.

Items that will be accepted include television sets, computers, monitors, keyboards, printers, fax machines, copiers, telephones, cell phones, video game systems and microwaves.

Major appliances, batteries, light bulbs, and any non-electronic waste will not be accepted.
