Heritage Month events planned

Laguna Beach will celebrate Heritage Month with a number of events in May:

?Crystal Cove Historic District guided walk, 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Meet at Los Trancos parking lot, located on the inland side of Coast Highway north of the city limits. No charge for tour; parking is $15. For more information call (949) 497-7647.

?North Laguna Cottages guided walk by Carl Iverson, 10 a.m. to noon May 15. Meet at Madison Square & Garden Café, 320 N. Coast Hwy. No charge.

?Early History of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, lecture by Starr Helms, author of “Mysteries from Beyond the Arch,” 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. May 17 at Council Chambers, City Hall, 505 Forest Ave. No charge.

?Tour of remodeled Laguna Presbyterian Sanctuary, 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. May 22, 415 Forest Ave. Meet church docents at the north entrance (red door). No charge.

?Historical Downtown Laguna, guided walk with Rick Gold and Heritage Committee members, 10 a.m. to noon May 29. Meet in front of Laguna Beach Library, 363 Glenneyre St. No charge.

June ballot issues to be explained

The Laguna Beach League of Women Voters will present a non-biased explanation of the six issues on this June’s ballot at 9:30 a.m. May 15 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 429 Cypress Drive.

The presentation of the Pros and Cons does not include advocacy of any issue. Any group wishing to have ballot issues explained by a member of the League can arrange for an event by calling Jean Raun, (949) 494-2247.

Library luncheon benefit set

The sixth annual “Ladies Who Lunch....And Read” benefit will take place at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sapphire Laguna.
