Costa Mesa’s Annual Mesa Verde Garage Sale Set For May 15, 2010

Spring is here and it’s time for Costa Mesa’s Mesa Verde Garage Sale, which is an annual garage sale of epic proportion. Each year residents in the Mesa Verde neighborhood join together for a one day sale that helps unite the community, attract shoppers, and clean homes. This year the Mesa Verde Garage Sale will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Torelli Realty, a Costa Mesa real estate company, hosts the event. Last year more than 150 homes throughout the Mesa Verde neighborhood in Costa Mesa participated, and this year the sale is on track for the same turnout or more. Torelli Realty has been helping people buy and sell homes in Costa Mesa since 1984 and the garage sales have become part of the company’s tradition and Mesa Verde’s culture.

Torelli Realty Marketing Director Holly Schwartz thinks the yearly garage sale is brilliant.

“What’s great about a community garage sale is that it gives people a chance to sell the things they no longer need and reduce the clutter that inevitably builds up,” she said. “Whether or not you’re looking to clean your house to sell it or clean your house for peace of mind, a fun event like this is a great idea.”

Schwartz worked for Home & Garden Television as a producer for several years and believes that limiting clutter is key in any home.
