Three people were arrested during a weekend DUI checkpoint in Costa Mesa, police said.

During a Saturday night Harbor Boulevard at Ford Road, police stopped 647 of 1,484 vehicles that passed through the location. Of those, officers conducted a dozen field sobriety tests but did not arrest anyone for allegedly driving under the influence.

Instead, three were arrested for other violations unrelated to driving drunk, police said.

Police issued 24 tickets and impounded 12 vehicles.

Funding for the checkpoint was provided by the state Office of Traffic Safety.
