Global visitors to the city

Tom Williams of My Laguna Office says visitors from faraway lands are using the business, often for Internet service. Williams encourages visitors to put a pin on a map indicating where they are from.

“At least once a day a long-term Laguna resident will enter My Laguna Office on Broadway and exclaim ‘I didn’t know you were here,’” Williams said. “Be that as it may, it appears visitors from the rest of the world have no problem finding the office supply/shipping/computer accessories store, often to use the Internet.”

According to the map on the wall, visitors from 57 countries, and every state except Idaho, South Dakota and Maine, have put a pin on the map in the store, Williams said.

“Customers love doing it, and seeing where other customers come from,” Williams said. The latest person to add a pin to the map is new Laguna resident Amra Domazet, who is from Bosnia.

My Laguna Office is located at 303 Broadway, Suite 104. For more information, call (949) 715-7500 or visit https://www.mylagunaoffice.com.

New art teacher in town

Artist and photography instructor Mary Gulino has opened My Artist Loft, offering workshops in painting and digital photography at the Neighborhood Congregational Church in Laguna Beach.

“My Artist Loft was founded on the premise of creating a unique alternative to the standard classroom educational environment, providing a casual and open setting where students can thrive creatively,” she said.

Gulino has been an art and photography instructor in Arizona for more than eight years, with ongoing weekly classes and one-day workshops in all mediums, including acrylic, oil, water-based oil, and watercolor paint, as well as drawing (pencil, pen and ink, and pastel), color, digital photography and Photoshop Elements instruction. She relocated to Laguna Beach in April and founded My Artist Loft.

Workshops will be held in various locations in Laguna Beach, including outdoor settings. She expects to open a private teaching studio by the end of the year.
