CRYSTAL COVE STATE PARK

Crystal Cove State Park, 8471 N. Coast Hwy, has 3.5 miles of beach and 2,000 acres of undeveloped woodland. $15 day-use parking fee.

Backcountry Hike: 9 a.m. Saturday. The wildflowers are still blooming! Join a state park volunteer for a guided 3- to 5- mile backcountry hike. Meet at El Moro Visitor Center (turn inland on Coast Highway at stoplight School-State Park.) $15 day-use parking fee.

Moonlight Mountain Bike Ride: Today is almost a full moon and a perfect night for a mountain bike ride. Join Crystal Cove State Park docents on a ride through the El Moro backcountry. Ride is for intermediate to advanced riders. Reservations Required. Contact wbonnin@parks.ca.gov

Geology Tour: 1 p.m. Saturday. Visit several diverse and geologically outstanding sites which all display a story from a different geologic time. Meet at Los Trancos lot at the trailer (turn inland on Coast Highway at stoplight “Los Trancos”). $15 day-use parking fee.

LAGUNA COAST WILDERNESS PARK

Geology Hike: 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Enjoy unspoiled canyon views and learn about local geology on this strenuous, 2-mile hike (400-foot elevation gain) up Little Sycamore Canyon led by Laguna Canyon Foundation volunteers. Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, Little Sycamore Canyon Staging Area/Nix Nature Center (west side of Laguna Canyon Rd/SR-133, approximately 3.5 miles south of I-5/405).
