Greg Stewart Dawson May 25, 1958 - July 3, 2010

Our beloved Greg Stewart Dawson, devoted husband, father, son, brother and uncle, suddenly left us July 3, 2010, following a heart attack.
Greg was born in Santa Monica and raised in Newport Beach, graduating from Newport Harbor High School, class of 1976. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from UC Davis and earned an MBA from USC.

Greg’s passion and career were in music and children’s entertainment /education. In addition to his work at Age of Learning as director of audio, Greg was a children’s songwriter and entertainer, creator and performer of the “Greggy Dee” shows throughout Southern California, the master of ceremonies for the Pasadena Pops Philharmonic, and a voice-over artist. Greg is survived by his wife, Melanie Holstra Dawson, and son, Connor Dawson of La Crescenta; parents, Patricia and Robert Dawson of Newport Beach; sister, Linda Dawson Elkman of New York, N.Y.; brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Bethelyn Dawson of Palos Verdes Estates; and nieces and nephew, Bradley and Allison Elkman and Dane and Zachary Dawson; and in-laws, the Robert Spears and Holstra families of Seattle, Wash.

Greg had an incredible love of life. His positive energy, smiling face and beautiful voice brought immense joy to all who crossed his path. He made every day an adventure and was a constant source of stability for family and friends. He was adored by all and will be forever missed.

A memorial service and a celebration of Greg’s life is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. July 10, 2010 at Pacific View Memorial Chapel, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona del Mar. An on-line memorial has been set up in Greg’s honor at www.mem.com.
