Man stabbed on Mountain Road

Police are seeking four suspects, one of whom stabbed a 36-year-old Laguna Beach man early this morning on Mountain Road, according to police. The victim was taken to a trauma unit for treatment and is expected to recover.

The victim called 911 at 12:55 a.m. from his cell phone to report that he was the victim of a stabbing, Laguna Beach Police Lt. Jason Kravetz said.

The victim told dispatchers that he walking in the 200 block of Mountain Road when he was confronted by four men, one of whom asked him for a cigarette.

When the victim said he didn’t have any, one of men suspects pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the abdomen. The four men ran away and were last seen northbound on South Coast Highway from Mountain Street.

The suspects were all described as Latino, 5-feet-5 to 6 feet tall, thin to medium builds, in their early 30s, and with black hair, blue jeans and black shirts, according to police records.

The victim was taken to Mission Hospital Trauma Center in Mission Viejo for treatment of a non-life-threatening stab wound, Kravetz said.
