Strand hosts temporary ice rink

Huntington Beach residents will be able to get their skate on over the holidays at a temporary ice rink at the Strand.

The city authorized a 1,800-square-foot ice skating rink from Dec. 22 to Jan. 5 on 5th Street between Pacific Coast Highway and Walnut Avenue. Fifth Street will be closed to cars for the duration.

Skate rentals will be $5 for children and $7 for adults.

The rink will be open 4 to 10 p.m. Dec. 22 and 23; noon to 6 p.m. Dec. 24; noon to 10 p.m. Dec. 26; 4 to 10 p.m. Dec. 27 to 31; noon to 10 p.m. Jan. 1 and 2; and 4 to 10 p.m. Jan. 3 to 5.
