COSTA MESA — Three people were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of identity theft and commercial burglary after a failed attempted to withdraw $1,800 from a Citibank customer’s account, police confirmed Thursday.

Police apprehended Geoffrey Quincy Carroll, 55, of Altadena, Carolyn Butler, 32, of Los Angeles and Kristopher Brent Cobb, 30, of Gardena at Fair Drive and Harbor Boulevard on Wednesday after the bank notified police, said Costa Mesa Police Lt. Bryan Glass.

Carroll attempted to withdraw the money from the Citibank branch at 2700 Harbor Blvd. using a fake ID, an incomplete account number and a signature that did not match the one on file with the bank, Glass said.
