Scenic 5K to pack the CdM streets

Expect Corona del Mar’s streets to be packed with walkers, runners and joggers and maybe just watchers for Saturday’s Scenic 5k.

The races include a men’s 5k, a women’s 5k, a 2-mile fun walk and the 1-mile dolphin dash — giving an opportunity for every member of the family to make a dart toward the finish line.

The race starts at Ocean Boulevard and Heliotrope Avenue, above Corona del Mar State Beach.

Registration begins at 6 a.m. followed by warm-up at 7:30 a.m., the men’s 5k at 7:55 a.m., the women’s 5k at 8:25 a.m., the 2-mile fun walk at 8:50 a.m. and the kids’ dolphin dash at 9 a.m.

All participants will be treated to food provided by local restaurants, such as Avila’s El Ranchito, Five Crowns, Gina’s Pizza, the Quiet Woman and Rose Bakery Café. They’ll also get a gift bag and a T-shirt.
