Bus service helps Aliso kids get to club

The Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach, with support from the city of Aliso Viejo, provides an after-school transportation program to get kids from Aliso Viejo schools to the club's main branch in Laguna.

The club provides bus service from the following Aliso Viejo schools: Canyon Vista Elementary, Don Juan Avila Elementary, Oak Grove Elementary, Wood Canyon Elementary, Aliso Viejo Middle School, Don Juan Avila Middle School and Aliso Niguel High School.

Last year, almost 300 Aliso Viejo kids — or 20% of the club's membership — came to the Laguna Beach location.

The fees for the Aliso Viejo Transportation Program stay low due to help from the city of Aliso Viejo.

"Now, with the continued generous support and understanding of the city of Aliso Viejo, every child has the opportunity to explore a great variety of interests, be mentored by a dedicated caring professionals, be part of a culture based on trust, realize opportunities for meaningful participation, and live up to high expectations," Pamela Estes, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach, said in a statement.
