Calling all CdM High homecoming queens

COSTA MESA — Former Sea King homecoming queens are in demand this fall.

Corona del Mar High School is looking for its last 50 homecoming queens to help celebrate the school’s 50th anniversary, said senior class president Annabel Pidgeon, 17.

“I think it’s nice that we’re kind of bringing it all back together,” Annabel said.

The high school is asking its former queens back to celebrate a half century at the homecoming football game Oct. 21 at Orange Coast College.

The queens are invited to dress up in gowns and take a ride in a stretch limo before being presented to the community at the homecoming football game, Annabel said.

This year’s homecoming theme, “Decades,” goes with the celebration of past winners.

Floats will pay homage to each decade, and the dance team will also perform numbers from the different years.

At the homecoming dance, which is informal and on campus, the celebration of the past will continue with students dressing up in attire from different decades and songs from different eras, Annabel said.

“I think it’s nice that we’re trying to involve all the students,” she said.

Any former homecoming queens should contact ASB Advisor Gary Almquist at galmquist@nmusd.us.
