Frank Alan Richmond passed away peacefully Sept. 1st with his wife, Cristina by his side. Born April 13, 1933 in Long Beach, CA to Frank Richmond and Frances Lydia LeBeau, He graduated in 1950 from Huntington Beach High School. Frank was a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force when he met his first wife, Lois Marie Caskey. They were married in Oct. 1955 in Puerto Rico while he was stationed there. He went on to Claremont Mens’ College where he received his BA, then went on to Cornell University’s School of Hotel and Restaurant management for his Masters. He was working for Far West Services’ management training program when he and his father; Frank Sr., opened The Wayfarers’ restaurant in Lomita, Ca. Frank designed and supervised the construction of Francois’ restaurant in Huntington Beach in 1966. After almost 25 years of marriage, he and Lois divorced.
Frank was a long time Rotarian, Alumni at both Claremont Mens’ and Cornell University and looked forward the Wild Game Feed every year. He enjoyed cooking, playing golf, tennis, fishing, hunting, traveling, with his friends, especially to Mexico and Baja. During on of his many trips to Mexico (1985) he met Cristina Gorozpe. They were married in Feb. of 1987. Upon his retirement they moved to Idaho, then to their current home in Arizona.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and ex-wife. He leaves behind his wife of 24 years Cristina Richmond, sister Joan (and Vern) Johnson, daughters Francine (and Jerry) Chappell, Alicia (and Russell) Cullen, son Lance (and Gigi) Richmond, 8 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and 1 great-grandson. He will be sorely missed by all.
