Thomas Parham has been named the new vice chancellor of student affairs for UC Irvine, university officials announced this week.
Parham, who has been with the university for 27 years, has been serving as the interim vice chancellor for the past year. After a nationwide search, school officials chose to keep Parham in the position.
Before acting as vice chancellor, Parham was director of the career center and counseling center and was assistant vice chancellor for counseling and health services.
Parham is a fellow of the American Psychological Assn. and American Counseling Assn. He has written six books.
