Share

Police were continuing the search Saturday for a man suspected of robbing a Costa Mesa bank.

FOR THE RECORD:
An earlier version incorrectly stated a Costa Mesa Federal Credit Union was robbed. It was a NuVision Federal Credit Union.

About 10:40 a.m. Friday, a man between his 30s and 40s walked into the NuVision Federal Credit Union at 2701 Harbor Blvd., and displayed a gun and demanded cash from a teller, said Costa Mesa police Sgt. Bryan Wadkins.

The man made off on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, but the robbery was caught on surveillance, Wadkins said.

Police went to the 2700 block of Peterson Place — less than a half mile away — searching for the man, but were unable to find the suspect.

The man is described as Latino, wearing a black jacket, about 5 feet 9, with black hair.
