Juanita Rose Stafford of Newport Beach, CA passed away peacefully on May 28, 2012 with her children Angela and Robert by her side. Juanita was 91 years old and will be dearly missed by family and friends. She was born in Newport Beach on February 8, 1921 just 2 blocks from the Pavilion to John and Rose Lugo. She graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1939. Juanita married Leonard Stafford in 1943. They raised two children and traveled the world with Leonard’s Navy Career until returning to Newport Beach in 1964. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard in 1996. She is survived by her two children: Angela Stafford of Newport Beach, CA, Robert Stafford of Mt. Shasta, CA and her brother John Lugo. She is also survived by two grandchildren Sienna and Holland. Juanita was present at the baby shower Saturday for her great grandchildren, twin Boys due in August. Juanita had unofficially named them Peezer and Weezer.

Mass will be held Monday June 4 at 10:00 AM at St Joachim, 1964 Orange Avenue ~ Costa Mesa, CA 92627. Following Mass Juanita will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Boulevard Riverside, CA 92518 at 1:00 PM with her husband Leonard.
