Huntington Beach man accused of stabbing roommate

A Huntington Beach man is facing a murder charge for allegedly stabbing his roommate with a knife, according to the Orange County district attorney's office.

Alexandre Louis Antal, 22, is accused of killing Michael Urso, 32, about 12:20 a.m. July 17 after the two had played a video game at their home in Huntington Beach, then leaving the scene, according to a release from the district attorney's office.

Urso's other roommates heard his screaming and tried to help him, the release said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Antal was later located at the Santa Ana River Bridge with the knife he allegedly used just a few feet away from him, according to the release. He was arrested by the Huntington Beach Police Department about 3:45 a.m.

Antal is charged with one felony count of murder with a sentencing enhancement for using a knife. He faces 26 years to life in jail if convicted and is being held in custody in lieu of $1 million bail, according to the release.

His arraignment was originally scheduled for July 19 but was continued to Aug. 10, according to the district attorney's office.
