Police: Girl jumps through window of truck

Laguna Beach police declined to file charges against a half-naked, 15-year-old Irvine girl who jumped through the window of a man’s truck Saturday.

Police received a report of a girl wearing a T-shirt with no pants who jumped into a truck on Coast Highway near Anita Street at 1:43 p.m. The caller said he came to a stop when the girl jumped into the truck, according to the police log. The teen was talking to herself, the log said.

An officer responded to the scene and asked the girl to exit the truck, Laguna Beach police Sgt. Louise Callus wrote in an email. Police believe she took LSD. The girl swung at the officer, who ducked out of the way and detained her, Callus said.

Laguna Beach police contacted Irvine police to help identify the girl and notify her parents.

Anaheim man arrested after evading police

Laguna Beach police arrested an Anaheim resident on suspicion of multiple crimes after he led officers on a March 14 pursuit in Laguna Beach.

Officers arrested Taylor Alexander Travis, 23, at his Anaheim home Saturday after detectives used his license plate number to track him down, Callus said.

Travis is charged with hit-and-run with property damage, evading a peace officer and driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, all misdemeanors, Callus said.

The pursuit began at 8:20 a.m. March 14. An officer attempted to stop the vehicle for various code violations near Broadway Street and Coast Highway. The suspect drove his vehicle into the 400 block of Cypress Drive, failed to yield to police and eventually got away, Callus said.

No one was hurt.

Woman hits two parked cars Saturday

A 45-year-old Huntington Beach woman lost control of her car and crashed into two parked cars at 5:25 p.m. Saturday, Laguna Beach police said.

She did not suffer any injuries.

The accident took place at South Coast Highway and Legion Street.

The woman was driving southbound and sideswiped a parked car, Callus said. She then swerved to the right and hit the parked cars.

The driver was not intoxicated, Callus said.

Traffic on South Coast Highway was reduced to one lane for 23 minutes, police said.

Stolen vehicle recovered in Santa Ana

Police found a stolen silver Mercedes convertible undamaged and unoccupied Tuesday in Santa Ana, Callus said.

The owner first reported the vehicle, a 2008 CLK550 model with a dark blue top, stolen at 9:11 p.m. Saturday. The car was parked in a parking stall in the 21700 block of Wesley Drive at 4 p.m. March 13, police said.

Callus said no one had been charged as of Wednesday.

Posters set on fire inside Thurston

Laguna Beach police said posters were set ablaze inside Thurston Middle School overnight March 14.

The incident occurred between 10 p.m. March 14 and 7:50 a.m. March 15, Callus said. The fire caused some wall paint damage, according to the police log. No arrests were made, Callus said.
