A memorial target shoot and barbecue will take place June 14 in memory of a Costa Mesa police officer who died in an off-duty car crash.

Proceeds will go toward a college trust fund established for Det. Mike Delgadillo’s four children.

The fundraiser is slated to start at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast at the Prado Olympic Shooting Park, 17501 Pomona Rincon Road, Chino.

That event will be followed by lunch at Pierce Street Annex, 330 E 17th St., Costa Mesa, including a raffle, awards and prizes, according to Kelly Vucinic, one of the event’s organizer.

Attendance is $100 per shooter and includes lunch. Raffle prizes from local businesses will be given away at the lunch, Vucinic said.

About 75 people are expected, Vucinic said.

Those who would like more information or want to register to attend, can contact Vucinic at kellyvucinic@yahoo.com.

Those who would like to contribute to the Delgadillo Children’s Trust but are unable to attend can make checks payable to the trust and leave them at the Costa Mesa police station’s front desk, 99 Fair Drive.
