Susi Q has new programs director

Jeanine Edmond is the new programs director for Laguna Beach Seniors, executive director Nadia Babayi announced in an email.

Edmond comes to Laguna from Make-a-Wish Foundation of Northeastern California and Northern Nevada, where she was president and chief executive, and has a 20-year history of program and executive leadership with several non-profit organizations, Babayi said in a news release.

Edmond replaces Mariann Tracy, who now works in the city’s public works department, Babayi said.

Edmond was selected from among 26 applicants and begins her new job at the Susi Q Center on Tuesday. She will be in charge of planning and organizing new and ongoing activities for senior adults, including classes, seminars and workshops.

Edmond will also collaborate with the volunteer coordinator and assist with marketing and fundraising for Laguna Beach Seniors, an organization that promotes independence, wellness and community.

“She brings to the position excellent financial management, volunteer recruitment and training, and experience building community partnerships as well as developing interesting and high-impact programs, and she also has experience with senior issues,” Babayi said in the release. “Her energy to help others and her commitment to community improvement mirror our values.”
