Paul Joseph Miller November 4, 1949 - August 26, 2013

Paul passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. He was 63 years old.

As a contractor and President of P&J; Utility Co., Paul spent more than 40 years installing waterlines across California and beyond.A kind man with a huge heart and a wonderful sense of humor, Paul touched the lives of many of the people he encountered over the years.

Paul was raised in Hancock Park in Los Angeles where he attended Pater Noster High School and West Los Angeles College. In the early 1970’s Paul moved to Laguna Beach, eventually settling in Newport Beach where he and his wife Michele brought up their two sons Braden and Spencer. By far the greatest joy of Paul’s life was time spent with his two sons. Coaching sports throughout their early years was his favorite pastime and this led to many enduring friendships with his sons’ friends and their families.

Paul loved basketball, music, all beaches, long drives and his extended family. The Millers traveled with family and friends to many beautiful locations over the years, including numerous tropical sailing adventures as well as vacations to Europe and Africa.

Paul is survived by his mother Rose, and his six siblings Diane Kordick, Daniel “Bud” Miller, Betsy Malloy, Janey (John Paul) Jones, Greg Miller, and Tracy (James) Slater. He will also be greatly missed by his brother-in-laws John T. Malloy and Martin Kordick, as well as his wife Michele’s family including Michael and Maureen Flower, Betty and Zane Gray, and Pat Flower. Uncle Paul had over 50 nephews and nieces who he adored. Each member of his family held a special place in his heart.

Funeral services will be held on September 12, 2013 at 11:00am at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Newport Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Orange County, 14131 Yorba St. Suite 200, Tustin, CA 92780.
