Boat show sees 30% rise in attendance

The Lido Boat Show saw more attendees and booths this year over 2012, according to a news release.

The 35th annual show, which took place Sept. 26 to 29, recorded a 30% increase in attendance, 14% more booth exhibits and 75% more dry land exhibits than last year, the release said.

Among the companies floating their offerings in the waters off the Lido Marina Village were Long Beach Yachts Sales, Mikelson Yachts, Valkyrie Yacht Sales, Silver Seas Yachts, South Coast Yachts and Denison Yachts.

"We were very happy with not only the amount of traffic, but the quality of the attendees," Ray Jones, owner of Long Beach Yachts Sales, said in the release.

Among the 150 new and brokerage boats on display were Cutwater Boats, Ranger Tugs, a 2013 Mikelson 43-, 35- and 41-foot Cruisers, a special-order 63-foot Marquis, a Beneteau Sense 55, a 2006 Riviera 36, a 2005 53-foot Carver and a 1997 Beneteau 46.

Duncan McIntosh Co. produces the event as well as the Newport Boat Show, scheduled for April 24 to 27.
