Donations will help OCC

The Costa Mesa Sanitary District is helping organize a donation drive Saturday that will benefit Orange Coast College.

The district, in conjunction with the Costa Mesa campus and Goodwill, is accepting used clothing, e-waste, household goods, furniture and children's items.

The collection point is OCC's Lot C, near Fairview Road and Merrimac Way. The drive runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Donations are tax-deductible, and donors can receive two free children's tickets to the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana.

For every container that Goodwill collects, the organization will give $75 toward the new Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Garden Classroom at OCC's Harry and Grace Steele Children's Center.

For more information, contact Mike Carey, OCC recycling coordinator, at (714) 432-5128.
