Fire department collecting toys for Spark of Love

The Laguna Beach Fire Department and other fire agencies in Southern California are partaking in the annual Spark of Love toy drive event.

The campaign is celebrating its 20th year of collecting and distributing toys and sports equipment to less-fortunate children. Laguna Beach has participated with the program since its inception in 1993.

Fire departments from across Southern California — Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside San Bernardino and Ventura counties — will partner up with ABC 7 to collect toys at various stations.

Laguna Beach will have four toy drop off locations:

•Fire Station 1, 501 Forest Ave.

•Fire Station 2, 285 Agate St.

•Fire Station 3, 2900 Alta Laguna Blvd.

•Fire Station 4, 31646 Second Ave.

The fire department will be accepting new, unwrapped toys or sports equipment until Dec. 24. For more information, contact Fire Capt. Thomas Padden at (949) 497-0700.
