Foley, CMPD officers deliver coats, safety tips

Newport-Mesa Unified School District Trustee Katrina Foley and officers from the Costa Mesa Police Department recently visited the Lou Yantorn Boys & Girls Club in Costa Mesa.

This was the fifth year that Foley, the CMPD, Costa Mesa High School cheerleaders and the Costa Mesa Fire Assn. have gathered donations of new coats to deliver to kids as part of the club's gift exchange.

Officers Jose Torres and John Smith reminded the children about helmet safety and making good decisons. The kids asked the officers lots of questions about what it takes to be a police officer.
