Volunteers wanted to fill committee vacancies

The Costa Mesa City Council is seeking applications to fill the committee vacancies left by David Stiller, a respected longtime community leader who recently died.

At the time of his death, Stiller, 78, had been serving on the city's Finance Advisory and Fairview Park Citizens Advisory committees.

The finance committee "provides advice to the City Council regarding events and issues that may affect the financial status of the city," according to a news release.

The Fairview Park committee is examining the 208-acre park's master plan and will make recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Commission and City Council.

Both positions are unpaid.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. March 31. They can be submitted online at http://www.costamesaca.gov/application, hand-delivered or mailed to Costa Mesa City Clerk, P.O. Box 1200, Costa Mesa, CA 92628-1200.

The appointments are scheduled to be discussed at the April 15 council meeting.

For more information about the application process, contact the city clerk at (714) 754-5225 or cityclerk@costamesaca.gov.
