Lagunans walk and bike for mobility test

Share

More than 30 residents toured Laguna Beach on foot and bicycle Saturday to provide staff input on how to boost mobility throughout the city.

Walkers and bicyclists started from the Laguna Beach Community and Susi Q Senior Center and ventured either south on Glenneyre Street to Cleo Street or north on Cliff Drive to connect with Cypress and Monterey drives.

Suggestions included creating a safe bike route from South Laguna to downtown and encouraging students to either walk or ride their bicycles to school, city planner Scott Drapkin wrote in an email.

Staff and a consultant will gather public input and prepare a list of preliminary recommendations to be vetted at future Planning Commission and Parking, Traffic and Circulation Committee meetings, Drapkin said.
